Biography![]() In the Mood/Dancing to the Blue Skies Band NYE 2007 My Life in A Nutshell Fate Some call it coincidence; some call it fate, others providence, but Ted knew it was time to stop putting off a career in writing when a singular series of events unfolded in his life. 1) The insurance company where he worked was discarding their old IBM display-writer word processors (one step removed from clay tablets). Yes, it was that long ago. 2) An article appears on the front page of the living section in the local newspaper. A ‘writers’ conference' was in town that very weekend. New York editors and agents would be roosting at a local college campus, there to accept manuscripts. Glory be! Professional contacts at last. As if that weren’t enough, 3) A reoccurring dream of alien abduction haunted his nights. Discipline Enough already! Ted chained himself in front of his computer and wrote The Moses Probe. Set in the 22nd century, no, the story didn't turn out to be about alien abduction, instead it’s Earth’s first encounter with other space faring civilizations. It’s amazing how once started, a story 'takes over' like that. Soon, Ted saw inspiration everywhere. When the Berlin Wall came down, a nostalgic turn led Ted to reminisce school and early career days. The result; The Bouchard Legacy (in press). Persistance The present Global Economy and repercussions thereof has been Ted’s latest food for thought. He even renewed his subscription to Foreign Affairs and Center for Contemporary Conflict. While a work of fiction is in the works on this subject, Ted has recorded Those Self Evident Truths, the story of democracy and nation-building in the American Tradition. Included in this 73 minute audio CD are key documents from 1215-1863. Let’s get down to business: To earn his keep, Ted has been in business. Besides books, he’s sold mainly bicycles and commercial insurance policies. He is married, has children, is active in Rotary International and likes being out and about. His present plans include cycling around the world, preferably in small chunks, center based. Dancing, and golf are other leisure-time activities. Your support appreciated. Please buy a book. Thank you. God bless. |
